It's difficult for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the record chasers, are all that remain for a squad that has won it all.

That it took up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's challenging for their batters to maintain a record if not provided the opportunity.

Finally, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to create her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India momentarily interrupted the run of success.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not come up short.

If this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort can be debated.

Certain people claim the case for final game tension. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was far harder to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this knock was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it was a frustrating experience because it appeared my form was missing completely," said Healy.

"However when you take the field, your fighting spirit take over and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's competitive nature has continuously been her great strength - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and after that the batsman was in motion.

"An opportunity to play and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

Once she was dismissed the team required another 66 at one run per ball - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm happy we have the belief to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, if necessary, we know we can succeed."

That comment will be the final thing competing nations at this tournament should hear.

In recent days a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this success succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at a significant event.

So great is her will, she later said she wanted to have participated through the pain.

But while she afterwards confessed those physical issues have delayed thoughts of retirement, this championship is expected to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as skipper.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her last major obstacle.
